CHOOSE ZINC AND YOU CAN BE A WINNER TOO
There are many advantages and benefits when you choose zinc as your material. Furthermore, at Zinkteknik we make sure to create additional competitive advantages by using the material absolutely optimally in terms of economy, the environment and design. Here are some examples that we hope will inspire you to contact us. Welcome!
Repeat accuracyZinc is a material that does not permit variations. This, combined with our expertise and control of process parameters ensures very high repeat accuracy. The result is that cast products are identical regardless of the number of runs. This guarantees the efficiency of subsequent assembly work, which is often fully automated. |
Antenna socket Previously made from magnesium |
Car seat bushing Previously turned from steel |
Connector Previously made from sheet-metal |
Cost savingsThe low melting point and hence short cooling time mean that we can produce more products in less time. We can also combine several operations in a single casting and hence eliminate costly machining. |
Toothed pulley Previously made from aluminium, Zinkteknik gave the customer a cost saving of around 80%. |
Banknote plate Previously made from sheet-metal. Zinkteknik gave the customer a better product for 1/3 of the cost. |
Extension catch Previously made from brass. Zinkteknik gave the customer a cost saving of around 80%. |
Circuit card holder Previously made from sheetmetal. Zinkteknik gave the customer a significant cost saving. |
Tool lifeThe low melting point of zinc also minimises tool wear. This, combined with our knowledge of tool design, means that we can usually give a lifetime guarantee on the tools we provide. |
Corner piece Previously made from aluminium. 100,000 units produced each year. Tool life is now 10 times longer than before. |
Safety belt catch So far we have made 8 million parts using the same tool |
TolerancesZinc is a stable metal that varies little. This, combined with our advanced production machinery, high quality tools and knowledge of how to handle materials and machines, means that we can meet tolerances below 5/100 right from the start. |
Antenna part for satellite phone Zinc’s inherent properties made it possible to manufacture this part. |
Sewing machine body Zinc’s inherent properties made it possible to manufacture this part. |
Shielding enclosure Previously made from sheet-metal. |
Environmental factorsThe low energy requirements of zinc together with our strict environmental requirements mean that we can honestly recommend zinc from the environmental point of view. |
Pump counterweight Previously made from lead/mercury. |
KapacitetThe low melting point of zinc and its rapid solidification mean that we can use our manufacturing facilities to the full and hence achieve a very high production output. |
Base station chassis We can produce 20,000 units a week using a single-shot tool. |
Antenna socket Made as a one-piece casting, including thread, at a rate of 250–300,000 per week per casting machine. |
StrengthThe mechanical properties of zinc, see table, mean that you get a very tough product, even if it contains cavities, undercuts, slots, etc. |
Handle core Previously made from plastic. A stronger core was required for durability. |
Rail Was to be made from plastic, but zinc was chosen instead for durability. |
