Repeat accuracy

Zinc is a material that does not permit variations. This, combined with our expertise and control of process parameters ensures very high repeat accuracy. The result is that cast products are identical regardless of the number of runs. This guarantees the efficiency of subsequent assembly work, which is often fully automated.

Cost savings

The low melting point and hence short cooling time mean that we can produce more products in less time. We can also combine several operations in a single casting and hence eliminate costly machining.

Toothed pulley
Previously made from aluminium, Zinkteknik gave the customer a cost saving of around 80%.
Banknote plate
Previously made from sheet-metal. Zinkteknik gave the customer a better product for 1/3 of the cost.
Extension catch
Previously made from brass. Zinkteknik gave the customer a cost saving of around 80%.
Circuit card holder
Previously made from sheetmetal. Zinkteknik gave the customer a significant cost saving.

Tool life

The low melting point of zinc also minimises tool wear. This, combined with our knowledge of tool design, means that we can usually give a lifetime guarantee on the tools we provide.

Corner piece
Previously made from aluminium. 100,000 units produced each year. Tool life is now 10 times longer than before.

Zinc is a stable metal that varies little. This, combined with our advanced production machinery, high quality tools and knowledge of how to handle materials and machines, means that we can meet tolerances below 5/100 right from the start.

The low energy requirements of zinc together with our strict environmental requirements mean that we can honestly recommend zinc from the environmental point of view.

The mechanical properties of zinc, see table, mean that you get a very tough product, even if it contains cavities, undercuts, slots, etc.
